Terms of Sale
Last updated: September 3, 2026.
1. Scope
These terms govern subscriptions to the Pair Scanner service (pairscanner.com), published by Timoté Crevoisier, an individual, in Switzerland ("the publisher"). Subscriptions are sold through Stripe acting as merchant of record for the transaction (section 4); the publisher remains solely responsible for the service itself. Subscribing constitutes acceptance of these terms and of the legal notice, which forms part of them.
2. The service
Pair Scanner is a statistical analysis tool for pairs of US stocks and ETFs: detection of cointegration relationships, Z-scores, signals and related metrics, recomputed every day after the US close. Results are derived data: the service does not display raw prices, and intraday values rely on quotes delayed by about 15 to 20 minutes.
Some contextual indications (instrument classification, probable source of a divergence, event flags) are generated automatically from instrument names and public data. They are provided for information only, may be wrong or incomplete, and constitute neither financial analysis nor a recommendation; subscribers must verify any information before relying on it.
Three plans are offered:
- Basic: full pairs table, security identities, detail view, pair of the day, live Z-score during the session.
- Plus: Basic, plus instant search and the pair tester (30 analyses per month).
- Premium: Plus, with 500 pair analyses per month.
Monthly quotas reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over. The publisher may change what each plan includes; if a plan's features are substantially reduced during a subscription, the subscriber may cancel and obtain a refund of the remaining period.
Development phase: during the development phase announced on the site, access to the service is offered without a subscription, upon simple account creation. Sections 2, 3 and 8 to 11 apply to every account holder, subscriber or not; the sections on prices, payment and cancellation apply once a subscription is taken out. The publisher may end the development phase at any time; existing accounts are informed.
3. Account
Access requires an account, identified by an email address and opened via a sign-in link sent to that address. Subscribers are responsible for access to their mailbox. The account is personal: sharing credentials or simultaneous use by several people is not permitted.
4. Prices, payment and merchant of record
Current prices are shown on the home page and in the application: Basic 13.99, Plus 18.99, Premium 28.99 per month, or ten times that amount per year (two months free). Amounts are identical in Swiss francs, euros and US dollars; the currency is determined at checkout from the subscriber's country. Prices are exclusive of tax.
The sale is processed by Stripe acting as merchant of record: Stripe collects the payment in its own name, calculates, collects and remits VAT or the equivalent tax of the subscriber's country, issues the invoices and provides transaction-level support. Stripe's purchase terms are presented at checkout and apply in addition to these terms. The publisher never has access to card data. Invoices are available in the customer portal accessible from the application.
5. Free trial
The first subscription includes a 5-day free trial. A payment method is required at sign-up, but nothing is charged before the trial ends; cancelling during the trial is free of charge. The trial is granted once per person. When the trial ends, the paid subscription starts automatically.
6. Term, renewal, cancellation
The subscription has no minimum term: it renews automatically at each billing date (monthly or yearly) until cancelled. Cancellation can be done at any time from the customer portal; it takes effect at the end of the period already paid, which remains accessible. Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, started periods are not refunded. Where a refund is due, it is processed by Stripe to the original payment method.
Plan changes are possible at any time from the customer portal; the price difference is prorated by Stripe according to its standard rules.
7. Right of withdrawal
The service is provided immediately upon subscription, which the subscriber expressly requests by subscribing. To the extent a right of withdrawal applies under the law of the subscriber's country of residence, the subscriber acknowledges waiving it once the service is provided; in practice, the 5-day free trial allows opting out at no cost before any payment.
8. Permitted use
The service is intended for the subscriber's own use. The following are prohibited: systematic or automated data extraction, redistribution, resale or publication of the results, and any use circumventing plan limits. In case of serious or repeated violation, the publisher may suspend and then terminate the account after an unheeded warning; amounts already paid remain due.
9. Availability and support
The publisher strives to keep the service continuously available but does not guarantee any uptime level. Maintenance windows, delays or data errors from the third-party provider may occur. Service support is provided by email at contact@pairscanner.com; billing and payment matters are handled in the customer portal, backed by Stripe's transaction support.
10. Financial disclaimer
Pair Scanner provides statistical information, not investment advice. No personalized recommendation is made and no advisory relationship is established. Investment decisions and their consequences are the sole responsibility of the subscriber. Trading financial instruments involves a risk of loss up to the entire capital involved. The full disclaimer is in the legal notice.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher's total liability under the service is limited, for all causes combined, to the amount paid by the subscriber in the twelve months preceding the triggering event; indirect damages (trading losses, lost profits, data loss) are excluded. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
12. Changes to the terms and prices
The publisher may change these terms and the prices. Subscribers are informed by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and it only applies to subsequent renewals. A subscriber who refuses a change may cancel before it takes effect.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Switzerland, subject to mandatory provisions applicable at the consumer's place of residence.
